The Batangas Development Summit (BDS), formerly called the North Batangas Summit, is an annual event which gathers representatives from the government, academe, and business sectors to discuss opportunities for economic and social development in Calabarzon in general and the province of Batangas, in particular.
The summit, which started in the year 2002, is organized by the Center for Batangas Initiatives (CBI) of FAITH Colleges. BDS has gained significant attention through the years as well-known and respected personalities from different fields share their knowledge and insights during their talks.
In past years, the summit had an average of 500 participants with members of the congress, governors, mayors, top business executives, and university presidents in attendance. It is the only conference of its kind in the province of Batangas.
THIS YEAR’S EVENT
This year's theme of the summit is Connecting Batangas to the World.
According to the National Competitiveness Index, Batangas consistently ranked in the top 10 Philippine Provinces from 2016 to 2021, making it a key player in lighting the way to the country’s future. Batangas even placed 5th among all provinces in the Philippines in 2019.
In line with our vision to elevate Batangas to a global platform, the Batangas Development Summit 2024 will spotlight investment, collaboration and lifestyle opportunities available within Batangas for partners beyond the province and the country.
This year, BDS will discuss a range of topics that will highlight the province’s resources, strengths, and edge.
